A tree lined avenue leads to Chateau le Soulac’s entrance forecourt. Dating back to the 14C, this delightful property was a monastery prior to Napoleon III extending it to house one of his Favourites. The stables finally became a branch of the National Stud.
Renovated to create a family retreat, perfect for entertaining guests. Spacious reception areas include a large salon and the barrel vaulted chapel, now a dining room. Ground floor accommodation is en suite in the main house and additional guest apartments are created within the stable wing. The extensive modern kitchen has a large light-filled dining area, and there is glorious summer dining under the trees on the adjoining terraces. Under floor heating adds to the excellent amenities offered within the house. A gated and walled heated swimming pool (13.5m x 6m) leads off the stable wing and within the grounds is a hard tennis court for all the party to enjoy.
What we think: With spacious living rooms, this is a wonderful venue for a big house party or family gathering and the staff are used to managing the larger party. The bedrooms are well appointed offering ground floor accommodation in the main house and the stable wing is just a short walk, across the gravel area outside the kitchen, with three separate guest suites. The swimming pool is enclosed and there is a good alarm system on the access doors to the pool area, solar heating is installed too. With comfortable seating areas, fabulous views over the valley below and spacious grounds to walk through, you can chose how you wish to relax.
